How Do We Receive the Record on Judgment Day? (84:10), (69:25)
84:10 says the wicked are given their record behind their back. 69:25 says it is given in their left hand. The claim is that these two descriptions contradict each other.
The false claim: The Quran gives two different and incompatible descriptions of how the wicked receive their record on Judgment Day.
Both are correct simultaneously, and the answer requires no elaborate resolution.
[84:10-12] As for the one who is given his record from behind his back, he will be calling for death. He will enter the Blazing Hellfire.
[69:25-26] As for him who is given his record in his left hand, he will say, "Oh, I wish I never received my record. And I wish I never knew my account."
A person can hold something behind their back with their left hand. The two descriptions are not competing - they are complementary details of the same posture.
The left hand carries the record. The position of that hand is behind the back - a posture of shame, concealment, and unwillingness to face what is written. Both verses describe the same moment from different angles: one notes the hand used, the other notes the position of that hand. Together they paint a complete picture of the wicked person on that Day: left hand, behind the back, carrying the record they cannot bear to see.
No contradiction exists.
