‹ Sura 101 - Al-Qaare‘ah

In the name of GOD, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

بِسْمِbis'miٱللَّهِl-lahiٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِl-raḥmāniٱلرَّحِيمِl-raḥīmi

[101:1] The Shocker.

ٱلْقَارِعَةُal-qāriʿatu ﴿١﴾

[101:2] What a shocker!

مَاmāٱلْقَارِعَةُl-qāriʿatu ﴿٢﴾

[101:3] Do you have any idea what the Shocker is?

وَمَآwamāأَدْرَىٰكَadrākaمَاmāٱلْقَارِعَةُl-qāriʿatu ﴿٣﴾

[101:4] That is the day when the people come out like swarms of butterflies.

يَوْمَyawmaيَكُونُyakūnuٱلنَّاسُl-nāsuكَٱلْفَرَاشِkal-farāshiٱلْمَبْثُوثِl-mabthūthi ﴿٤﴾

[101:5] The mountains will be like fluffy wool.

وَتَكُونُwatakūnuٱلْجِبَالُl-jibāluكَٱلْعِهْنِkal-ʿih'niٱلْمَنفُوشِl-manfūshi ﴿٥﴾

[101:6] As for him whose weights are heavy.

فَأَمَّاfa-ammāمَنmanثَقُلَتْthaqulatمَوَٰزِينُهُۥmawāzīnuhu ﴿٦﴾

[101:7] He will lead a happy (eternal) life.

فَهُوَfahuwaفِىfīعِيشَةٍʿīshatinرَّاضِيَةٍrāḍiyatin ﴿٧﴾

[101:8] As for him whose weights are light.

وَأَمَّاwa-ammāمَنْmanخَفَّتْkhaffatمَوَٰزِينُهُۥmawāzīnuhu ﴿٨﴾

[101:9] His destiny is lowly.

فَأُمُّهُۥfa-ummuhuهَاوِيَةٌhāwiyatun ﴿٩﴾

[101:10] Do you know what it is?

وَمَآwamāأَدْرَىٰكَadrākaمَاmāهِيَهْhiyah ﴿١٠﴾

[101:11] The blazing Hellfire.

نَارٌnārunحَامِيَةٌۢḥāmiyatun ﴿١١﴾
