7:175-176 - The Man Who Clung to the Ground
[7:175-176] Recite to them the news of one whom we gave him our proofs, but he chose to discard them. Consequently, the devil pursued him, and he became a strayer. Had we willed, we could have elevated him therewith, but he insisted on sticking to the ground, and followed his own opinions. Thus, he is like the dog: whether you pet him or scold him, he pants. Such is the example of people who reject our proofs. Narrate these stories, that they may reflect.
