In the name of GOD, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
بِسْمِbis'miٱللَّهِl-lahiٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِl-raḥmāniٱلرَّحِيمِl-raḥīmi
[77:1] (Angels) dispatched in succession.
وَٱلْمُرْسَلَـٰتِwal-mur'salātiعُرْفًاʿur'fan ﴿١﴾
[77:2] To drive the wind.
فَٱلْعَـٰصِفَـٰتِfal-ʿāṣifātiعَصْفًاʿaṣfan ﴿٢﴾
[77:3] Stir up clouds.
وَٱلنَّـٰشِرَٰتِwal-nāshirātiنَشْرًاnashran ﴿٣﴾
[77:4] Distribute the provisions.
فَٱلْفَـٰرِقَـٰتِfal-fāriqātiفَرْقًاfarqan ﴿٤﴾
[77:5] Deliver messages.
فَٱلْمُلْقِيَـٰتِfal-mul'qiyātiذِكْرًاdhik'ran ﴿٥﴾
[77:6] Good news, as well as warnings.
عُذْرًاʿudh'ranأَوْawنُذْرًاnudh'ran ﴿٦﴾
[77:7] What is promised will come to pass.
إِنَّمَاinnamāتُوعَدُونَtūʿadūnaلَوَٰقِعٌlawāqiʿun ﴿٧﴾
[77:8] Thus, when the stars are put out.
فَإِذَاfa-idhāٱلنُّجُومُl-nujūmuطُمِسَتْṭumisat ﴿٨﴾
[77:9] The sky is opened up.
وَإِذَاwa-idhāٱلسَّمَآءُl-samāuفُرِجَتْfurijat ﴿٩﴾
[77:10] The mountains are blown up.
وَإِذَاwa-idhāٱلْجِبَالُl-jibāluنُسِفَتْnusifat ﴿١٠﴾
[77:11] The messengers are summoned.
وَإِذَاwa-idhāٱلرُّسُلُl-rusuluأُقِّتَتْuqqitat ﴿١١﴾
[77:12] That is the appointed day.
لِأَىِّli-ayyiيَوْمٍyawminأُجِّلَتْujjilat ﴿١٢﴾
[77:13] The Day of Decision.
لِيَوْمِliyawmiٱلْفَصْلِl-faṣli ﴿١٣﴾
[77:14] What a Day of Decision!
وَمَآwamāأَدْرَىٰكَadrākaمَاmāيَوْمُyawmuٱلْفَصْلِl-faṣli ﴿١٤﴾
[77:15] Woe on that day to the rejectors.
وَيْلٌwaylunيَوْمَئِذٍyawma-idhinلِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَlil'mukadhibīna ﴿١٥﴾
[77:16] Did we not annihilate the earlier generations?
أَلَمْalamنُهْلِكِnuh'likiٱلْأَوَّلِينَl-awalīna ﴿١٦﴾
[77:17] Then we made others follow them?
ثُمَّthummaنُتْبِعُهُمُnut'biʿuhumuٱلْـَٔاخِرِينَl-ākhirīna ﴿١٧﴾
[77:18] This is what we do to the criminals.
كَذَٰلِكَkadhālikaنَفْعَلُnafʿaluبِٱلْمُجْرِمِينَbil-muj'rimīna ﴿١٨﴾
[77:19] Woe on that day to the rejectors.
وَيْلٌwaylunيَوْمَئِذٍyawma-idhinلِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَlil'mukadhibīna ﴿١٩﴾
[77:20] Did we not create you from a lowly liquid?*
أَلَمْalamنَخْلُقكُّمnakhluqkkumمِّنminمَّآءٍmāinمَّهِينٍmahīnin ﴿٢٠﴾
*77:20-23 According to Langman's Medical Embryology, by T. W. Sadler (Fifth Edition, Page 88): "In general the length of pregnancy for a full term fetus is 266 days or 38 weeks after fertilization." Both 266 and 38 are multiples of 19 (Appendix 1).
[77:21] Then we placed it in a well-protected repository.
فَجَعَلْنَـٰهُfajaʿalnāhuفِىfīقَرَارٍqarārinمَّكِينٍmakīnin ﴿٢١﴾
[77:22] For a specific period.
إِلَىٰilāقَدَرٍqadarinمَّعْلُومٍmaʿlūmin ﴿٢٢﴾
[77:23] We measured it precisely.* We are the best designers.
فَقَدَرْنَاfaqadarnāفَنِعْمَfaniʿ'maٱلْقَـٰدِرُونَl-qādirūna ﴿٢٣﴾
[77:24] Woe on that day to the rejectors.
وَيْلٌwaylunيَوْمَئِذٍyawma-idhinلِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَlil'mukadhibīna ﴿٢٤﴾
[77:25] Did we not make the earth an abode?
أَلَمْalamنَجْعَلِnajʿaliٱلْأَرْضَl-arḍaكِفَاتًاkifātan ﴿٢٥﴾
[77:26] For the living and the dead?
أَحْيَآءًaḥyāanوَأَمْوَٰتًاwa-amwātan ﴿٢٦﴾
[77:27] We placed on it high mountains, and provided you with fresh water to drink.
وَجَعَلْنَاwajaʿalnāفِيهَاfīhāرَوَٰسِىَrawāsiyaشَـٰمِخَـٰتٍshāmikhātinوَأَسْقَيْنَـٰكُمwa-asqaynākumمَّآءًmāanفُرَاتًاfurātan ﴿٢٧﴾
[77:28] Woe on that day to the rejectors.
وَيْلٌwaylunيَوْمَئِذٍyawma-idhinلِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَlil'mukadhibīna ﴿٢٨﴾
[77:29] Go to what you used to disbelieve in.
ٱنطَلِقُوٓا۟inṭaliqūإِلَىٰilāمَاmāكُنتُمkuntumبِهِۦbihiتُكَذِّبُونَtukadhibūna ﴿٢٩﴾
[77:30] Go to a shade of three different densities.
ٱنطَلِقُوٓا۟inṭaliqūإِلَىٰilāظِلٍّẓillinذِىdhīثَلَـٰثِthalāthiشُعَبٍshuʿabin ﴿٣٠﴾
[77:31] Yet, it provides neither coolness, nor protection from the heat.
لَّاlāظَلِيلٍẓalīlinوَلَاwalāيُغْنِىyugh'nīمِنَminaٱللَّهَبِl-lahabi ﴿٣١﴾
[77:32] It throws sparks as big as mansions.
إِنَّهَاinnahāتَرْمِىtarmīبِشَرَرٍbishararinكَٱلْقَصْرِkal-qaṣri ﴿٣٢﴾
[77:33] As yellow as the color of camels.
كَأَنَّهُۥka-annahuجِمَـٰلَتٌjimālatunصُفْرٌṣuf'run ﴿٣٣﴾
[77:34] Woe on that day to the rejectors.
وَيْلٌwaylunيَوْمَئِذٍyawma-idhinلِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَlil'mukadhibīna ﴿٣٤﴾
[77:35] That is the day they do not speak.
هَـٰذَاhādhāيَوْمُyawmuلَاlāيَنطِقُونَyanṭiqūna ﴿٣٥﴾
[77:36] Nor are they given permission to apologize.
وَلَاwalāيُؤْذَنُyu'dhanuلَهُمْlahumفَيَعْتَذِرُونَfayaʿtadhirūna ﴿٣٦﴾
[77:37] Woe on that day to the rejectors.
وَيْلٌwaylunيَوْمَئِذٍyawma-idhinلِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَlil'mukadhibīna ﴿٣٧﴾
[77:38] This is the Day of Decision. We have summoned you and the previous generations.
هَـٰذَاhādhāيَوْمُyawmuٱلْفَصْلِl-faṣliجَمَعْنَـٰكُمْjamaʿnākumوَٱلْأَوَّلِينَwal-awalīna ﴿٣٨﴾
[77:39] If you have any schemes, go ahead and scheme.
فَإِنfa-inكَانَkānaلَكُمْlakumكَيْدٌkaydunفَكِيدُونِfakīdūni ﴿٣٩﴾
[77:40] Woe on that day to the rejectors.
وَيْلٌwaylunيَوْمَئِذٍyawma-idhinلِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَlil'mukadhibīna ﴿٤٠﴾
[77:41] The righteous will enjoy shade and springs.
إِنَّinnaٱلْمُتَّقِينَl-mutaqīnaفِىfīظِلَـٰلٍẓilālinوَعُيُونٍwaʿuyūnin ﴿٤١﴾
[77:42] And fruits that they desire.
وَفَوَٰكِهَwafawākihaمِمَّاmimmāيَشْتَهُونَyashtahūna ﴿٤٢﴾
[77:43] Eat and drink happily in return for your works.
كُلُوا۟kulūوَٱشْرَبُوا۟wa-ish'rabūهَنِيٓـًٔۢاhanīanبِمَاbimāكُنتُمْkuntumتَعْمَلُونَtaʿmalūna ﴿٤٣﴾
[77:44] We thus reward the virtuous.
إِنَّاinnāكَذَٰلِكَkadhālikaنَجْزِىnajzīٱلْمُحْسِنِينَl-muḥ'sinīna ﴿٤٤﴾
[77:45] Woe on that day to the rejectors.
وَيْلٌwaylunيَوْمَئِذٍyawma-idhinلِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَlil'mukadhibīna ﴿٤٥﴾
[77:46] Eat and enjoy temporarily; you are guilty.
كُلُوا۟kulūوَتَمَتَّعُوا۟watamattaʿūقَلِيلًاqalīlanإِنَّكُمinnakumمُّجْرِمُونَmuj'rimūna ﴿٤٦﴾
[77:47] Woe on that day to the rejectors.
وَيْلٌwaylunيَوْمَئِذٍyawma-idhinلِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَlil'mukadhibīna ﴿٤٧﴾
[77:48] When they are told, "Bow down," they do not bow down.
وَإِذَاwa-idhāقِيلَqīlaلَهُمُlahumuٱرْكَعُوا۟ir'kaʿūلَاlāيَرْكَعُونَyarkaʿūna ﴿٤٨﴾
[77:49] Woe on that day to the rejectors.
وَيْلٌwaylunيَوْمَئِذٍyawma-idhinلِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَlil'mukadhibīna ﴿٤٩﴾
[77:50] Which Hadith, other than this, do they uphold?
فَبِأَىِّfabi-ayyiحَدِيثٍۭḥadīthinبَعْدَهُۥbaʿdahuيُؤْمِنُونَyu'minūna ﴿٥٠﴾
